FAQ

MongoDB certifies Database Administrators and Application Developers.

Database Administrator (DBA) – A MongoDB database administrator has in-depth knowledge of run-time configuration, processes, scaling, backup and recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning for production MongoDB instances.

Developer – A software engineer fluent in at least one programming language and its associated MongoDB driver. An application developer has a detailed understanding of MongoDB CRUD operations, the driver API, schema design, aggregation and basic scaling.

We currently offer certification at the Associate Level for the DBA and Developer roles. Certification at other levels will be available in the future.

150.00 USD per attempt

Please note that we are no longer including a free retake with the exam fee.

Rescheduling Policy

You may reschedule your exam appointment more than 24 hours before the scheduled test time. If you reschedule your exam appointment within 24 hours of scheduled test time, you will pay us a 10 USD rescheduling fee.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you cancel your exam two or more business days before the scheduled test time, you will receive a 100% refund. If you do not schedule your exam, and request a refund within your exam period, you will receive a 100% refund. If you do not request a refund within your exam period, you will forfeit your exam fees.

If you cancel your exam within two business days before the scheduled test time, you will receive a refund minus a 50 USD cancellation fee.

No refund will be issued if you schedule an exam time slot with our proctoring partner and fail to take it when scheduled.

Anywhere. MongoDB Certification exams are administered online through our proctoring partner, Examity.

All you need is access to good internet and a computer running Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X with a webcam and microphone in order to complete the exam.

Linux and Internet Explorer are not currently supported.

The exam consists of multiple choice and check all that apply questions. You will have 90 minutes to complete an exam. There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

There are no prerequisites. Anyone may take a MongoDB Certification exam at anytime. However, we recommend completing an online course or instructor-led training and familiarizing yourself with the following preparation resources:
